About us
Welcome to the official website of South Bucks Archers,
the friendly archery club for Slough and the
South Bucks District.
We are affiliated to the Bucks Archery Association, the Southern
Counties Archery Society and to the
Grand National Archery Society, the
governing body for archery in the UK, and shoot under their rules,
regulations and insurance cover.
Our shooting ground is at St Bernard's Catholic Grammar
School, 1 Langley Road, Slough SL3 7AF where we benefit from
secure parking and no public right of access.
In the summer, we meet on
Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.00pm and Sunday Mornings from
10.00am. During the winter months, our evening shoots take place in the
sports hall, when a small fee is charged per archer to cover the
cost of the hire. Winter shooting times are
Thursday evening, 6.30 to 8.30pm and Sundays from 10.00am. The hall is
also
generally available to us on days with
inclement weather, but on these ocassions, the hire fee must be funded
by the archers present.
We do require that you wear soft, non-marking soled shoes when shooting in the hall (squash shoes are ideal) and ask that you bring such shoes to change into. Full changing and toilet facilities are available on site.
Guests are welcome to shoot on our club nights on production of their GNAS membership card and the payment of a guest fee.
We are now running Beginners' Courses for people who are interested in starting archery, please look at the Beginners page of this website.
Meanwhile, if you have any queries or require any further
information, please look at the Committee
page and contact the club secretary.
